Giving Back to Those Who Helped Him

George Clooney Hollywood career wasn’t as smooth as many people might think. The former Sexiest Man Alive worked odd jobs, slept on couches, borrowed money for food, and did all sorts of strange things in order to make it in show business. And after all these years, George hasn’t forgotten who helped him in his greatest time of need.

So, after netting millions of dollars from Gravity, he jotted down 14 names of his closest friends who lent him a helping hand when he was at his lowest, rented a truck and hired freelance security guards, and put $1 million in 14 different Tumi bags.

Casamigos Success

Give and you shall receive. This is especially true for George, who had just given $14 million to his 14 closest friends. His tequila company, Casamigos, exploded! He founded the company alongside business partners Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman in 2013.

A couple of years later, the trio sold Casamigos to Diageo, a multinational drink company from England, for $700 million with a promise of an additional $300 million after evaluating the company’s performance, which George and co. received.
