Phoenix’ Rising

Joaquin Phoenix’s has won the Academy Awards for Best Actor in 2020, the AACTAA for Best Actor in 2020, the British Academy Film Awards for the Best Actor in Leading Role in 2020, the Golden Globe Awards for the Best Actor in Motion Picture – Drama in 2020, and many more for his mesmerizing acting as the Joker.

According to Cinemablend, Phoenix made a large sum of cash from his performance in Joker weighing in at around $4.5 million. Now that may seem like a lot, but more serious numbers have just entered the equation. If Joaquin Pheonix does agree to do two more sequels to Joker, then that means he could make a staggering $50 million. That would be Pheonix’s largest commission. Sources say his salary is still in the talks, but the projects are already in place for production.

What’s Next for Phoenix?

Phoenix has shown satisfaction to play in smaller indie films. In 2020, Phoenix played as a Surgeon in a short-film, Guardians of Life, directed by Shaun Monson. Another movie that’s slated to release in 2021 is C’mon C’mon, where Phoenix plays the lead character, Johnny, an artist that must take care of his young nephew where they forge a stronger relationship on a cross-country trip.
